About the region
The municipality of Olszanica connects the Bieszczady Mountains and the Przemyśl Uplands through the Sanok-Turczańskie Mountains. It is located between Lesko and Ustrzyki Dolne on the Great Loop (the large ring road of the Bieszczady Mountains) and no. 28 State Road which runs to the border crossing point in Krościenko.
There are 8 villages in the municipality: Olszanica, Orelec, Paszowa, Rudenka, Stefkowa, Uherce Mineralne, Wańkowa and Zwierzyń. All of them are situated in areas protected by law namely Słonne Mountains Landscape Park and Easter Beskid Protected Landscape Area.
The picturesque hills of Lesko Uplands and the mountain ranges of Żuków, Ostry Dział, Chwaniów or the Słonne Mountains are getting more and more interesting for tourists. The land of the extremely rich forests, fauna and flora with dense river and stream system attracts visitors.
It is close to everywhere from here. At the distance of dozen kilometres there are two artificial lakes – Solińskie and Myczkowieckie. The area of the municipality of Olszanica is ideal for people who want to take a rest in an active and healthy way. There were marked some interesting educational, nature paths, routes for walkers and bikers.
The natural and cultural values of the Eco museum “ In the land of beavers” are strongly recommended. Tourist attractions include also three nature reserves, natural monuments, historic churches and wooden orthodox churches, court parks, horse stables or some great places for fishing.
Tourists can take advantage of this peaceful area with good roads and the convenient access to civilisation facilities.
