Slovak National Museum SNM - Museum of Ukrainian Culture in Svidník is a national institution whose task and mission is to document the main stages of historical and cultural, political and social development of Rusyn-Ukrainians in Slovakia from the oldest to the present day. Established in 1956 in Prešov (until 1993 as the Ukrainian Cultural Museum), it has been located in Svidník since 1964. Here, too, its systematic scientific-research, publishing, methodological-specialist, cultural-pedagogical and the most important activities have been developing. regarding the collection of collections.
 SNM - Museum of Ukrainian Culture in Svidník - unique specialist and the oldest national museum in Slovakia.
 On the area of ​​1,700 m2, it documents the cultural and historical stages of development of Ukrainian-Ruthenian inhabitants of Slovakia from the oldest to the present. The exhibition - apart from the part of the first HUMAN AND NATURE, in which flora and fauna were presented, which were one of the main determinants of the way of life and socio-economic development of the presented region - is chronologically divided and covers the period from PREHISOTRIA through the period of FEUDALISM, CAPITALISM to PRESENT DAY. The exhibition includes unique archaeological findings - tusk mammoths and mammoth teeth from the vicinity of Svidník, stone cleavers, stone axes, amphora-shaped vessels, etc. - medieval writing monuments about the formation of individual municipalities, documents about the nationality of Western residents, manifestations of spiritual and material culture . Particular attention is devoted to documentation of literary activities of Rusyn-Ukrainians.
